Give a complement; Get on TV
It started with my daughter giving a compliment to a stranger in the kids swim academy locker room, “I like your eye lashes”. That one compliment started a relationship with a woman who also was a TV show host of a local show that features local events and small, female own and operated business.
We met in June. I sent an email pitching her a few ideas for a potential segment. After a few months and some planning, I was being filmed for a TV segment in November.
It was wild to get to tell my story and how I got into woodworking, while also showing a few products and talking about how these boards can help create calm when planning and hosting parties.
It was an incredible adventure and it just goes to show that you never know where a compliment might lead. It’s the power of positivity and how love will win over hate every single time.
